Description
Product Description
An area on a main carriageway marked by the red cross indicates that stopping is strictly prohibited due to the speed and design of the road. This sign is commonly known as the 'Clearway Sign'.
The beginning of a clearway must be marked with this sign along with a supplementary plate indicating the length in miles (rounded to the nearest whole mile if longer than 3 miles). Signs can be placed on both sides of the road if required. The end of the clearway should also be indicated using this sign with an 'End' supplementary sign.
These signs should ideally be mounted in pairs using back-to-back clips. Repeaters may be used, alternating from one side to the other, at travel intervals of around 60 seconds (approximately every 1600m at speed limits of 60mph).
